GUT DRAUF – A national scheme goes international
In 2014/15, the coordination units for German-Czech youth exchanges (also known as Tandem) chose healthy lifestyles for young people as a priority theme for their work. Their activities in this regard extended to include dietary issues and exercise, but also the mental and social impacts of a healthy lifestyle during adolescence.
Tandem's cross-border activities were supported by the non-profit organisation transfer, which is responsible for coordinating the national GUT DRAUF campaign of Germany's Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA). The next goal is to make good use of the contacts established during the first phase to continue internationalising GUT DRAUF across the German-Czech border.
GUT DRAUF, the Federal Centre for Health Education's campaign, serves to improve the health of girls and boys aged 12 to 18 by advising them on healthy diets, the importance of sufficient exercise, and stress management (www.gutdrauf.net, in German).
